Last month Jo Waters used insightful questions to guide our discussion of Jodi Picoult’s perplexing novel Spark of Light. In the end, we realized that fiction gives us the opportunity to have empathy for people with extreme views because it introduces us so thoroughly to them.

We look forward to having Reine lead our discussion of Greater Journeys by David Mc Cullough on Sunday, August 25 at 1:00 PM at UUCM. This is a fascinating history of artists, writers, doctors, and thinkers who traveled to Paris from the United States between 1830-1900 when many Americans were traveling west.

On September 22, at 1, we will discuss Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize winner The Underground Railroad.
