We will spend our last Sunday service of October Remembering our Ancestors at our Day of the Dead service. Let’s reconvene in the evening with a potluck supper that continues the celebration…

We all have favorite foods that instantly remind us of someone who has passed on. Whether it’s Great Granny’s dinner rolls, Auntie’s Peach Pie, Grampa’s famous brisket… recipes that, each time we make them, fill us with memories of our Beloved Dead.

This time of year, when the veil between the worlds of Living and Dead is thinnest, is a perfect time to gather together as a community to feast, sharing recipes as we share old memories
while making new ones. Bring a favorite potluck dish to share; a picture for the Ancestors Altar; and maybe a story to tell about your loved one and their favorite food.

Come, let’s honor our loved ones and feast together! Watch the eChalice for further information and how to sign up for this potluck gathering. In the meantime, if you would like to help plan, setup and/or clean up, or if you have any questions, please contact bethkarow@uugrassvalley.org
