The previous Building & Grounds Team has changed form in our new home on Squirrel Creek Road.
The Facilities Committee is our interim group helping guide longer-term visioning, planning, and prioritizing the use of Capital Campaign funds. They hold regular meetings open to all who would like to share in the vision of what this place can be.
Two sub-teams have formed to tackle the day-to-day upkeep of our new home. The Building Crew services the community’s built environment. The Land Crew oversees the care and maintenance of the 6 acres outside our walls.
Both groups welcome volunteers who are willing to help meet the needs of our indoor and outdoor spaces through work parties and project development. Building Crew work parties involve handy-projects, small repairs, and routine tidying-up. Land Crew work days focus on gardening, landscaping, and land stewardship.
Members and Volunteers on the Building and Land Crews are people who have a vision of what our property could be — and they contribute work toward that vision. There are no requirements for the work parties other than enjoying working on projects with others.
Whether you are new to our UUCM community or have been a part of it for a while, if you would like to meet people while doing some fun and interesting things, the UUCM Building & Land Crews are good places to start. If you like to work on projects and are not yet ready to be on a team, we still could use your help with the multitude of projects to be done.
