Resistance in social-political spheres is often rooted in trying to keep things as they are or getting things back to where they were, a kind of “restorative resistance” that ultimately bolsters the status quo. This Dr. Martin Luther King weekend, we’ll ask ourselves and our religious tradition what it might mean to dream of building new worlds, rather than merely reforming the old.
