The Bending the Arc Task Force is sponsoring a planning retreat on March 11 from 9:30 to 12:30 at UUCM. The retreat is for everyone what wants to take small or large action toward dismantling racism and voter suppression. The retreat has three goals:
- To celebrate what worked and what we learned in our work in 2022;
- To review the critical barriers preventing racial justice in 2023;
- To craft our 2023 strategy to address these barriers.
Some initiatives to be discussed include
- Postcarding for critical off-year elections in Virginia and Wisconsin
- Book study groups
- Service opportunities in support of local BIPOC community organizations
- Educating ourselves on multiculturalism as related to our values and principles
- Work with local school boards to eliminate racism in schools.
