As of this writing, we are currently finishing up collections for our December partner, Community Beyond Violence.
Our January Share the Plate recipient is Sierra Roots.
Sierra Roots is committed to providing a secure and safe place for people who are chronically homeless. The organization employs a relationship-based approach that identifies individual needs and preserves the dignity of each person. The goal is a community in which homeless people experience inclusion rather than isolation and where they can progress toward health and self reliance. Several UUCM members are active participants in the cold weather shelter program managed by Sierra Roots
