UUCM’s December Share the Plate recipient, Community Beyond Violence received $771.66, thanks to generous UUCM members, friends, and visitors. These weekly donations add up. Thank you all.
As of this writing, we are currently finishing up collections for our January partner, Sierra Roots.
Our February Share the Plate recipient is Child Advocates of Nevada County.
The mission of Child Advocates is to provide services that empower and protect children. There are three principal programs:
- Healthy Babies is a home visiting program for new mothers and mothers to be.
- The Child Safety Puppeteers bring a message of personal safety to young children.
- Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers are sworn in as officers of the court who advocate for a child’s needs in a court setting.
UUCM member Lindsay Dunckel is the Treasurer of Child Advocates.
