Wonder what this Article II stuff is all about? Join our Deeper Dive discussion group. The four-session program engages you in the Purposes, Values and Covenant, Inspiration, Inclusion and Freedom of belief of the proposed Article II which will be voted on at General Assembly 2024.
One of the important tasks we take on as Unitarian Universalists who hold Love as our core value is the study of how love moves among us. That’s what Article II of the UUA Bylaws, Principles and Purposes is all about. The Deeper Dive discussion group(s) uses a format developed by UU Wellspring with a goal of taking a deeper dive while in a covenanted community before reacting to or giving feedback on the proposed Article II. GA delegates will especially appreciate the exploration, but all are welcome.
Sessions include:
1: Covenant – Use the covenant section from the Proposed Article II to explore and live into.
2: Purpose, Inspirations, Inclusion and Freedom of Belief – Focus on the sections before and after the values and covenant.
3. Love – Explore the centering value in the proposed Article II.
4. Six Values: Interdependence, Justice, Equity, Generosity, Pluralism, and Transformation -Connect with the values and their meaning in our lives and communities.
