Blessings are always raining down on us even in challenging times. Join us this Sunday as we literally count our blessings.

This year’s annual music service not only celebrates the gifts and blessings of music, it also celebrates the gifts and blessings that UUCM Music Director, Jordan Thomas-Rose has been to UUCM. Jordan’s role at UUM will conclude at the end of June. Come, let your heart be blessed by the tenor and tunes of our wonderful UUCM musicians, and come, let your heart bless Jordan as he turns to the next portion of his journey.

We set aside time to bless the whole of our selves and our lives, with all that they hold – all that is stretched, scarred, weary, and frightened as well as all that is hopeful, enlivened, ready, and joyous. We will bless all of it. All of us. All of each other.

Following a familiar feature of Soul Matters Circles, a few individuals in our UUCM community offer their responses to the questions that call to them from this month’s Nurturing Beauty-themed packet.

Rev. Mary Katherine Morn writes, “We are here together to borrow courage for the task of coming alive.” On this day of UUCM’s annual meeting, anchored in the metaphor of stone soup, we look for truth, beauty, goodness, and courage in community. 

For many, creating art is a spiritual practice. Some consider the creative force the spirit of life. Come celebrate art and creativity in its many forms and find inspiration in the creative endeavors of members of all ages of the UUCM community.

This Mother’s Day, we look to the “ordinary” beauty around and within us and invite ourselves to release our grip on the pursuit of perfection in order to arrive at the moment that is waiting for us. Music with Kate Canan and Tom Wernigg.

One of our unique UU rituals is the Flower Ceremony, created almost 100 years ago in Czechoslovakia. This week, as we enter our new theme of Nurturing Beauty, we celebrate Beltane and May Day with a special flower ceremony. Come, let’s help each other find beauty.

On this Sunday after Earth Day, we celebrate creation in song and story, including the work of sustaining it.

In this day and age we don’t have to look far for bad news. Stress and anxiety are the constant companions of so many of us. Many know this Sunday as Easter, a season celebrated in so many faiths and religious traditions as a time of resurrection and hope. Join us in a special morning as we too awaken out of what feels like an ending into new life, new hope.
